Quinn Cement takes delivery of new Feldbinder cement tankers

Quinn Cement has received delivery of five new Feldbinder triaxle cement tankers as part of Quinn Building Products' Fleet and Mobile Plant Replenishment Programme in Northern Ireland. The new tankers have been paired up with tractor units purchased in the second half of 2019, said Quinn Cement. FLSmidth released its preliminary 2Q20 report ahead of the full interim 2Q20 results due to the volatility in order intake and revenue combined with the suspension of guidance caused by COVID-19. Across all regions, the mining industry and especially the cement industry have been negatively affected by the pandemic. Breedon Group has had an assessment of the Hope Cement plant's economic contribution to the local economy. An independent report by global management, engineering and development consultancy Mott Macdonald says Breedon Group shows a 51 per cent increase in its contribution to GBP61m from GBP53m in 2017. Cement consumption in Spain declined 16.5 per cent to 6.1Mt in the first half of 2020 when compared with the 1H19, according to Oficemen, the country’s  cement association. The full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Norway has been awarded EUR2.1bn from the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Surveillance Authority (ESA). Cemex confirms decision to close Ferriby plant
