Italy's cement production index (base year 2015) fell from 99 in December 2021 to 65 in January 2022, or by 14 per cent when compared with January 2021, according to Federbeton, the country’s concrete association. Cemex is joining forces with integrated chemicals and energy company Sasol ecoFT and renewable energy company E NERTRAG in a milestone project that will combine CO 2 with hydrogen to produce sustainable aviation fuel.     The consortium will source green hydrogen generated exclusively from wind and solar energy from E NERTRAG . Swiss cement market sees 10% pick-up in 1Q22

Cement deliveries in Switzerland increased 10.2 per cent to 950,556t in the first quarter of 2022 when compared with 862,210t in the 1Q21, according to the Swiss cement association, cemsuisse. Hanson UK ( HeidelbergCement ) plans to build the UK’s first net-zero cement factory at a facility in north Wales.
