Cement producers in Vietnam sold 3.6Mt to the domestic market in January, down 16.28 per cent from the month before due to a stagnant real estate market. Pakistan’s domestic consumption continues to uphold sales with latest industry data for January show another decline in exports. According to data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, domestic cement sales jumped by 10.10 per cent to 2.135Mt in January 2013. Pakistan cement exporters have registered almost a 30 per cent YoY rise in cement export volumes in the first six months of the current fiscal. However, the amount of deliveries to neighbouring India continue to disappoint. Total shipments (domestic and exports) from Argentine cement producers fell 7.8 per cent YoY, according to the latest update from the Asociacion de Fabricantes de Cemento Portland (AFCP). Total cement sales in Vietnam (domestic plus exports) in 2012 fell 3.5 per cent YoY to 54Mt. Tunisia has reported a double-digit rise in cement sales for the first 11 months of 2012 while exports saw a significant drop over the same period.
