Pakistan’s cement export revenue for the first 10 months of the current fiscal observed a YoY growth of 30.9 per cent and 52.3 per cent in terms of dollar value and quantity, respectively, according to Pakistan's Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Spanish cement consumption increased 8.7 per cent YoY in March 2019, according to Oficemen, the domestic cement association. In the rolling 12-month period (April 2018-March 2019) the associations Cement Barometer estimates domestic demand at 13.58Mt, up from 12.48Mt in the April 2017-March 2018 period. Cement consumption in Peru advanced 3.4 per cent to 905,000t in April 2019, up 3.4 per cent when compared with April 2018, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Yanbu Cement is targeting a rise in exports, having exported 997,000t of cement and clinker in 1Q19, approximately 40 per cent of Saudi Arabia's cement and clinker exports. Iranian cement exports to Iraq have been suspended, said Hamid Hosseini, secretary general of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, Trend reports. He said Iran’s exports to Iraq have been suspended for more than a year due to dumping claims. Iranian export companies were not in possession of facts to prove the opposite, he said. “Thus, Iraq has first increased its fees for imported cement from Iran,” he noted. “Then imports of cement from Iran were periodically banned.”

QNCC looks to export 3Mta of clinker to Africa, Asia and Kuwait

Qatar National Cement Co (QNCC) is now looking to export as much as 3Mta of clinker, particularly focussing on markets in Africa, Asia (including India) and Kuwait.
