Holcim  has received EUR328m (US$355.36m) in funding from the European Union's Innovation Fund for two carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects. The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released its first Net-Zero Industry Tracker 2022 report. It states that cement demand is forecast to rise 46 per cent by 2050 and suggests that US$185bn will have to be invested in CO 2 handling infrastructure and clean hydrogen production to enable low-emission cement plants.
