Hoffman Green Cement launches construction second plant

Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies (HGCT) has started work on the construction of its second cement plant, which represents an investment of EUR22m. Located in Bournezeau in the Vendée region of France, the facility will have the capacity to produce 0.25Mta of low-carbon cement. Commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2022, according to Ll’Usine Nouvelle.

Dalmia adds 2.3Mta to Bengal capacity

Uzbekistan and South Korea have been in talks to accelerate the implementation of an investment plan for the construction of a cement works in the Beruni region of Karakalpakstan, northwestern Uzbekistan. The Baoré cement plant will commence production this month, according to the country’s President, Idriss Déby. The government will also subsidise the price of a bag of cement. The Minister of Industry of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Julien Paluka, has officially opened the Carrière de Lualaba (CARRILU) cement works in Kolwezi, Lualaba province, DRC. Ciments d’Afrique (CIMAF) Gabon has inaugurated its second production line at the Owendo plant. The 0.35Mta line will lift the plant’s total capacity to 0.85Mta after an investment of XAF9bn (US$16.3m). It includes a new-generation 50tph crusher and two 500m3 storage silos. Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corp and Saudi-based Engineering Dimension International Investment have agreed to build a cement plant under the name of Saudi Bangla Integrated Cement Co Ltd. The coronavirus pandemic has seen a readjustment of the work schedule of the new plant being built in Sucre, Bolivia, by Fancesa as COVID-19 forced a 70-day quarantine upon the project.
