Floods have swept away the Huaxin Cement Industry plant under construction in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-2, Talti, Nepal, on the night of Sunday, 14 July, according to Khabarhub. The cement factory was swept away after the level of water in the river in Talti surged due to incessant rains continuing for three days, said Tulasi Jung Thapa, a spokesperson. Peru-based Cemento Inka plans to start the civil works for its new 0.7Mta grinding plant in Pisco in August. The US$20m project is expected to take 12 months to complete with commissioning due in the 2H20, according to the company’s Director and Marketing Manager, Carlos Alberto Choy. Eagle Cement Corp said the opening of its cement plant in Malabuyoc in Cebu, Philippines, will be delayed following issues in receiving the required permits for its construction.
