Lucky Cement Ltd has announced the commencement of commercial operations of its Samawah plant in Iraq. The company in a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday informed, "We are pleased to announce that the greenfield cement production facility in Samawah, Iraq with a capacity of 1.2Mta has successfully commenced its commercial operations with effect from 10 March 2021." New cement project set to begin in Ethiopia

Lemi National Cement Industrial Complex, a new private industrial park, is set to be built in the Amhara region of Ethiopia by private investors, according to The Swazi Observer. Cemex Philippines resets opening date for Antipolo plant

Cemex Philippines is postponing the opening of its new integrated cement plant in Antipolo City to January 2022. The original target date for completion of the project was   December 2020. The US$265m kiln line will have a cement capacity of 1.5Mta. "Accordingly, the four-year income tax holiday period applicable to this project shall be reckoned from January 2022 or the actual start of commercial operations, whichever is earlier," the company said.

The Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK) in southern Cameroon has made a 10ha plot available in its industrial zone to Atlantic Group, owned by Ivorian billionaire Kone Dossongui.
