Peruvian cement dispatches saw a five per cent uptick in May 2022 to 1.117Mt from 1.066Mt in May 2021, according to the national cement association, Asocem. Cement dispatches in Peru increased 10 per cent YoY to 1.086Mt in April 2022 from 0.984Mt in the equivalent period of 2021, according to cement association, Asocem. Peru-based Cementos Pacasmayo reported a 13 per cent YoY increase in revenues to PEN525.4m (US$137.3m) in the 1Q22, primarily due to the rise in average prices of bagged cement as sales volumes of cement, concrete and precast fell by 5.3 per cent from 933Mt in the 1Q21 to 883.8Mt in the 1Q22. Cement dispatches in Peru increased eight per cent YoY to 1.173Mt in March 2022, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. In March 2021 dispatches were at a level of 1.089Mt. Cement dispatches in Peru reached 1.088Mt in February 2022, up five per cent when compared with February 2021, according to the Peruvian cement association, Asocem. Peru’s Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion has started a series of technical meetings with construction unions and companies to lower the weight of cement bags in the country from 42.5kg to 25kg. Sales volumes of cement, concrete and prefabricated products of Peru-based Cementos Pacasmayo fell 6.2 per cent  in the 4Q21 when compared with the 4Q20. Income was up 10.4 per cent as cement and concrete prices increased in line with inflation and by a change in the sales mix, favouring cement and concrete at better prices.
