FL Smidth has been awarded a 20m euro contract to supply all main mechanical production equipment for a new cement production line in Syria. FLSmidth has won a contract to modernise and expand a cement production line near the town of Kermanshar, some 450 km southwest of the Iranian capital, Tehran. The customer is Gharb Cement Industries, part of the Fars & Khuzestan Cement Co Group, which is Iran’s largest cement producer. The total value of the contract is 14.6m euros or 108m Danish kroner. The partly privately owned Iranian Khazar Cement Company (KCC), part of the Fars & Khuzestan Cement Company, has placed an order with the FLSmidth Group for upgrading and modernising its cement plant in Khazar, 175 km north-west of the capital Tehran.
