Polysius wins US$308m cement plant bid

Saudi-Kuwaiti Paper Factory

A paper factory, jointly owned by Saudi cement maker Yanbu Cement Company (YCC) and Kuwaiti paper bag manufacturer Shuaiba Paper Products Co, will produce some 70 million  cement bags annually, according to YCC managing director, Saud Salih Islam. Saudi cement producer Yanbu Cement Company (YCC) has awarded German company KHD Humboldt Wedag AG an additional 13.4 mln Saudi riyal ($3.6m) contract for the expansion of the clinker daily capacity of the fourth production line at YCC’s new plant to 9500tpd from 7000tpd, it was reported on January 3, 2005.  The new contract brings the total value of the expansion of the fourth production line to 233.4 mln riyals ($62.2m). Sayyid Qahtan bin Yaroub Al Busaidi, member of the Omani State Council, will preside over the opening ceremony of a factory for industrial packaging at Rusayl Industrial Estate on Wednesday.
