Larsen wins $19m Oman contract

Larsen & Toubro, India,, said Monday it received an order worth $19m from Oman Cement Co to build a cement grinding plant at Rusayl in Oman.  Larsen said that it plans to commission the cement plant with an annual production capacity of over 1Mta. Larsen in its statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange said that it won this order against stiff competition from international bidders. 

China’s Sinoma International wins cement plant bid

Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd said it has signed a 652.8 mln yuan contract to build a cement production line for Guochan Industrial (Fujian) Cement Co Ltd.  The construction period for the production line will be 20 months, said Sinoma International.  It also said that one of its units, CBMI Construction Co Ltd, has won a Euro 20.28m bid to build a section of a cement production line in Morocco for Holcim Ltd.

FLSmidth has signed a contract to supply a new cement production line to Karoon Cement Company based 500km southwest of the Iranian capital of Tehran. The new 3500tpd production line has a contractual value of some EUR 24m. The Manitowoc Co. Inc. said that its Manitowoc Marine Group has been awarded a contract to build an unmanned, self-discharging, bulk cement barge for American Transport Leasing Inc. The 460-foot-by-70-foot vessel will be built at the company’s Bay Shipbuilding Co. facility in Sturgeon Bay. Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd and Sojitz Holdings Corp have jointly received an order to construct cement plant facilities in Vietnam.
