Cemex reports 1Q22 net sales increase of 13%

Cemex announced its first quarter of 2022 results, with consolidated net sales and EBITDA growing YoY by 13 and three per cent, respectively, despite a challenging cost environment. AfriSam has supplied some 7000t of its High Strength R42.5 Cement from its Roodepoort plant near Johannesburg for a new border control post between South Africa and Zimbabwe at Beitbridge. The contract between El Nahda Industries ( El Nahda Cement) and The Swiss Arab Engineering Company (ASEC) has been renewed and the cooperation between the two companies will continue for another year until 31 March   2023. Dangote Cement Group 's total pan-African volume represents 37 per cent of group volumes. Sales volumes across its African operations were 10.9Mt in 2021, up 8.7 per cent. Dangote Cement reports group revenue of NGN1383.6bn in 2021

Dangote Cement reported that for the year ended 31 December 2021, group revenue reached NGN1383.6bn (US$3.327bn), up 33.8 per cent on 2020. The group recorded a record EBITDA of NGN684.6bn. Pan-African EBITDA totalled NGN88.8bn, a rise of 24.6 per cent. Net debt reached NGN225.1bn. In total, manufacturing costs increased by 25.8 per cent to NGN551bn from NGN437.9bn in 2020. Egypt sees 151% cement export surge in 2021

Cement exports from Egypt are up 151 per cent YoY in 2021 to US$456m from US$182m in 2020, according to a recent report by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory and Metallurgy Industries. The increase in exports was driven by a higher demand for Egyptian cement, said Medhat Stefanos, chairman of the cement division of the Federation of Egyptian Industries. Gebr Pfeiffer commissions Kenyan mill

Gebr Pfeiffer has successfully commissioned third line for cement grinding for Mombasa Cement Ltd, Vpingo , Kenya. The project for Tororo Cement subsidary Mombasa Cement included the installation of a Gebr Pfeiffer vertical roller mill  MVR3750C-4. The original order was placed in July 2019 .

Mangal Industries selects Sinoma to build 3Mta cement plant

An indigenous Nigerian firm, Mangal Industries had signed a US$600m deal agreement with Sinoma International Engneeering of China for the construction of a 3Mta cement plant and 50MW captive power plant in Mopa, Kogi State, Nigeria . The factory will rely on the best available technology for cement production and in line with the highest environmental standards and scheduled to be completed in early 2024.
