PT Semen Tonasa reported a 137 per cent YoY rise in first-half sales to 2.78Mt compared to the same period of last year. Peru’s cement market expands 11.4% in 1H13

Domestic cement dispatches in Peru totalled 4,904,873t in the first half of 2013, representing an increase of 11.42 per cent when compared with 1H12, according to Peru’s cement producers’ organisation, Asocem. Cement production in the Jan-Jun period reached 5,020,162t, up 12.1 per cent YoY from 4,478,151t. June proved an excellent month for exports as local cement producers shipped 92,271t of cement across the country’s borders, noting a 37.4 per cent rise YoY.

Indonesia sales reaccelerate in June

Cement sales in Indonesia have reaccelerated in June following a slowdown in the previous month as demand recovers outside of Java. However, a more reduced growth rate is expected through the second half of the year due to a decline in infrastructure development. For the first six months of the year, Vietnam sales were 22.68Mt, according to latest data from the Ministry of Construction (MoC). The amount represents 46.8 per cent of the full-year target, the MoC added. Output stood at 24.7Mt, making up 44.1 per cent of its whole year target. Pakistan achieved record domestic dispatches in the fiscal year 2012-13 (July-June) as sales crossed the 25Mt mark, 1.1Mt higher than last year’s 23.95Mt. Pakistan's June dispatches dragged down by lower exports

Total dispatches by Pakistan cement manufacturers during June 2013 fell 6.44 per cent to 2.702Mt compared to 2.888Mt in the previous month, held back mainly by lower export volumes. Domestic dispatches declined 1.4 per cent on monthly basis to 2.07Mt in June 2013 compared to 2.10Mt in the month before. In May, Peru’s Asocem members delivered 832,648t of cement to the domestic market and exported 12,460t. For the year to-date, deliveries increased by 12.7 per cent YoY.
