DG Khan Cement Company Ltd has procured cement export orders from the Philippines. The order was confirmed by a Pakistan government adviser. Cement exports from Bangladesh record a 12% fall in FY19-20

Bangladesh's cement industry has earned export revenue of US$9.14m in the FY19-20 (July 2019-June 2020), compared to US$10.41m bagged in 12MFY18-19, a significant contraction of 12.2 per cent YoY. Pakistan’s cement industry during the FY19-20 (July 2019-June 2020) recorded a rise of two per cent to 47.81Mt in total cement dispatches from 46.88Mt in FY18-19. JSW Group reportedly set to reduce imports from China

Parth Jindal, managing director of JSW Cement, has announced on social media that JSW Group plans to reduce its net imports from China. "The JSW Group have a net import of US$400m from China annually and we pledge to bring this down to zero in the next 24 months," said Mr Jindal. In the comment, Mr Jindal referred to the clash on the border of both countries, which took place earlier in June. JSW Cement currently imports clinker from China to supply its grinding operations. 

Andhra Cement January-March net sales down 85% YoY

India-based Andhra Cement has reported standalone net sales of INR109.5m (US$1.44m) in January-March 2020, down 85.4 per cent when compared with INR749.4m in January-March 2019. In the January-March 2020 quarter the company posted a net loss of INR-543.8m while EBITDA was INR113.2m.

Power Cement begins commercial operations at 7700tpd plant

BCIC and EDII to build cement plant in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corp and Saudi-based Engineering Dimension International Investment have agreed to build a cement plant under the name of Saudi Bangla Integrated Cement Co Ltd. The new plant will have a clinker capacity of 12,000tpd and a cement capacity of 3000tpd, based on the supply of limestone from Meghalaya, India.
