Dalmia Bharat outlines next phase of expansion

Dalmia Bharat Ltd is planning to expand its cement production capacity to 75Mta by 2027, from its current capacity of 39Mta. India's Sagar Cements Ltd announced on 6 April 2023 that it was suspending clinker production at its plant in Mattampally , Telangana State. The shutdown is due to maintenance works and is expected to last for 15 days. 

UltraTech sees 12% hike in sales volume in FY22-23

UltraTech Cement , part of Aditya Birla Group , has reported a 12 per cent advance in consolidated sales volume, including its overseas operations  in UAE, Bahrain and Sri Lanka, to 106Mt in the FY22-23, ending March 2023. In the 4QFY22-23 sales volumes were up 15 per cent YoY to 30Mt from 26Mt while consolidated sales increased by 14 per cent YoY to 32Mt from 28Mt.

Dalmia Cement to burn 5000t of baled plastics in Ariyalur kilns

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) will be using 5000t of baled plastics to fire its cement kilns in Ariyalur following a memorandum of understanding with Greater Chennai Corp (GCC). The priority of the corporation is reducing the amount of plastics dumped as legacy waste in Kodungaiyur and Perungudi, according to Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi and Chief Engineer of Solid Waste Management, N Mahesan. The GCC bears all the charges, including transporting the baled plastics to the factory in Ariyalur.

Malabar Cements launches new dry mix

India's Malabar Cements has launched a new dry mix for use when plastering buildings. The dry mix is made by combining cement and sand after removing dampness with the help of a machine, reports The Hindu. Supplied in 40kg bags, the dry mix can be used directly for plastering simply by adding water and covers a larger area than the conventional cement and sand method, according to the company. Dalmia Cement sells stake in Dalmia Bharat Refractories

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL) has agreed to sell its entire investment of 18,723,743 equity shares in Dalmia Bharat Refractories Ltd to M/s Sarvapriya Healthcare Solutions Private Ltd. Dalmia Cement and Vedanta Aluminium team up to produce low-carbon cement

Vedanta Aluminium has entered into a long-term partnership with Dalmia Cement  (Bharat) for the supply of industrial wastes such as fly ash and spent pot lining (SPL) to produce low-carbon cement. Under the agreement, Vedanta’s large aluminium smelter at Jharsuguda will transport around 20 rakes of fly ash per month for five years to Dalmia’s cement plants in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Assam, as well as supply SPL to Dalmia’s Rajgangpur plant in Odisha for three years.   Ever...
