In 2016 Tajikistan exported 300,000t of cement, mainly to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, according to Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Shavkat Bobozoda. Production of cement in Tajikistan rose by over 41 per cent in the first 11 months of 2016 compared to the same period in the previous year, the Times of Central Asia reports. Tajikistan starts cement exports to Uzbekistan

Tajikistan has commenced the export of cement to Uzbekistan, according to the Tajik Ministry of Industry. According to the Tajikistan Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, a new 1.2Mta cement plant will be brought into operation in the Yovon district, Khatlon province, this month. Gansu Qilianshan Cement and 8th Metallurgical Corporation signed a memo with JBK on joint construction of a cement production line project in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. The three parties plan to jointly spend US$130m building the cement production line project in southern Kyrgyzstan. The ground ceremony for a new cement plant in northern Kyrgyzstan was held on Friday by ZETH Cement, a local subsidary backed by Chinese investors. Tongling Shangfeng to enter Kyrgyzstan

Tongling Shangfeng Cement, a subsidiary of Gansu Shangfeng Cement, has signed a letter of intent to acquire an equity stake in Zeth Cement of Kyrgyzstan. The Chinese-based company aims to join forces with investor Zhu Rongjun to develop a cement and clinker line with a capacity of 3000tpd. Tongling Shangfeng will have a 58 per cent stake in Zeth while Zhu will hold the remaining 42 per cent.
