Oman Cement Co reports 16% decline in revenue

Oman Cement Co has reported a 15.8 per cent decline in total revenue to OMR11.76m (US$30.6m) in the first quarter of 2021, compared to OMR13.9m in the 1Q20. Net profit also fell 33 per cent YoY to OMR756,290 from OMR1.13m in the year-ago period.

Oman Cement Co has reportedly received commercial bids from EPC contractors for its integrated cement plant in Duqm, according to Muscat Daily. Al Sahawa Cement Co (ASCC), a subsidiary of Oman Cement Co, is reportedly planning to invite bids for two key tenders linked to the construction of its new US$212m integrated cement plant in Duqm by mid-July, according to TradeArabia. Oman Cement Co has issued an EPC tender for a new integrated cement plant in Duqm with a clinker capacity of 5000tpd. The plant will be operated as Alsahawa Cement Co (ASCC). Oman Cement Co has reported a 52 per cent YoY fall in profit after tax for its 1H19 unaudited results, decreasing to OMR2.3m (US$6m) from OMR4.8m of the year-ago period. The first six months of 2019 saw total revenue at the company remain flat at OMR26.3m.
