New cement plant for Yuzhnaya on Sakhalin

The Sakhalin Oblast Development Corp is planning the construction of a cement plant in Smirnykhovsky District in the Yuzhnaya priority development area (PDA) and has agreed to the financial and economic justification, according to Esmerk Russian News. The volume of private investment in the plant is estimated at RUB8bn (US$112.2m). The name of the investor has not been disclosed but they expect to receive the status of resident of the PDA. VostokCement completes repair of kiln

Russia’s VostokCement has completed the repair of the second rotary kiln at its Teploozersk facility. During two months of work, the lining was replaced, the smoke pump was repaired and a new foundation for the sixth support of the furnace was filled in. The heat exchanger has also been replaced, which will improve heat exchange in the furnace and optimise fuel consumption, according to the company.

Atom Cement launched in Russia

Russia’s Atomstroykompleks has launched its Atom Cement plant in Sysert, Sverdlovsk region, which has been designed with 550,000tpa of white cement capacity. The project represents an investment of RUB4.5bn (US$61.46m) and is expected to reduce the price of white cement in the region by up to 30 per cent.

Mikhaylov Construction Materials Plant completes Eurocement acquisition

Sberbank has closed a deal to sell parent company Eurocement Group's shares and debt to OOO Mikhailovsky Kombinat Stroitelnykh Materialov (Mikhaylov Construction Materials Plant), which won the auction organised on the Russian Action house’s electronic platform. The transaction was valued at RUB161bn US$2.214bn).   The deal will have a positive impact on the group’s financial performance and will be reflected in Sber Group's IFRS Report for 3Q21.

Lasselsberger Group's 700tpd white cement plant nears commercial start-up

The Lasselsberger group of Austria is preparing to launch a new 700tpd of white cement plant in the Abzelilovsky district of Bashkiria, Russia.
