YTL Corp Bhd's net profit rises to MYR16m

YTL Corp Bhd’s net profit jumped to MYR16.09m (US$3.9m) in the 2QFY21, ended 31 Dec 2020, from MYR1.29m in the preceding quarter, thanks to a strong showing by its multi-utilities business segment in Singapore. Revenue increased 10 per cent to MYR4.59bn, from MYR4.18bn in 1QFY21. Cemex Philippines resets opening date for Antipolo plant

Cemex Philippines is postponing the opening of its new integrated cement plant in Antipolo City to January 2022. The original target date for completion of the project was   December 2020. The US$265m kiln line will have a cement capacity of 1.5Mta. "Accordingly, the four-year income tax holiday period applicable to this project shall be reckoned from January 2022 or the actual start of commercial operations, whichever is earlier," the company said.

Cemex Philippines records net income of PHP98m in 2020

Cemex Holdings Philippines Inc reported a 23 per cent weaker net income of PHP985m (US$20.54m) in 2020 from PHP1.3bn in 2019, as the coronavirus impacted its operating earnings. Cement demand in Vietnam fell by 11 per cent YoY to 4,899,301t in October 2020. Republic Cement aims to double plastic co-processing by 2021

Republic Cement’s resource recovery arm, ecoloop, plans to co-process a minimum of 10m plastic sachets or bags per day at its plant in the Philippines by the beginning of next year.
