Cement sales in Vietnam fell 33 per cent YoY and 31 per cent MoM to 3,503,485t in August 2021, according to the Vietnamese cement association, VNCA. VICEM sales declined 31 per cent YoY and MoM to 1,122,792t while the sales of its associates fell 48 per cent YoY and 32 per cent MoM to 700,693t in August 2021. Vietnamese cement producers sold 8.09Mt of cement in August 2021, representing an eight per cent drop YoY as the COVID-19 pandemic suspended construction projects, according to the latest data from the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction. Malaysia-based Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMS) reported a 32.3 per cent rise in 2Q revenues from MYR139.878m in the 2Q20 to MYR185.001m in the 2Q21. The Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines, (CeMAP) Inc said Vietnam's cement exports to the Philippines rose 17 per cent YoY to 2.51Mt in the first four months of 2021, making the Philippines the second-largest destination for Vietnam exporters. Total cement and clinker exports from Vietnam declined two per cent YoY in July 2021, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). The country’s cement producers supplied 3,202,346t of cementitious product to customers beyond its borders. However, when compared with June 2021, exports were up by 15 per cent. Dongwu Cement reported a 30 per cent rise in unaudited revenues to CNY227.8m (US$35.1m) in the first six months of 2021, up from CNY174.8m in the 6M20. Cement sales in Vietnam in July 2021 declined eight per cent YoY to 4,964,884t and by 19 per cent from 6,095,139t in June 2021, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Semen Indonesia Group (SIG) reported a 1.2 per cent uptick in revenue to IDR16.213bn (US$1.13m) in the 1H21 from IDR16.026bn in the 1H20.
