Borneo Oil increases investment in Sabah cement plant

Borneo Oil Bhd increased its investment to MYR50.7m (US$12m) in Sabah’s first integrated clinker and cement plant, which is expected to be commissioned by the 3Q22. South Korean producers aim to boost cement production

Cambodia’s cement producers manufactured 1,524,248t of cement in January-February 2022, up by 2.1 per cent when compared with a production of 1,493,212t in the 2M21, according to Cambodia Cement Manufacturing Association (CMMA). Total domestic cement sales in Vietnam reached 3,538,333t in February 2022, up 39 per cent YoY but down 14 per cent when compared with January 2022, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Feasibility study for Conch KT Cement plant in Kampong Speu completed

Conch KT Cement Co Ltd has completed a feasibility study on a cement plant planned for northwestern Kampong Speu province in Cambodia and is now working on the legal procedures to break ground, according to Vei Samnang, the provincial governor. China Resources Cement announced consolidated turnover amounted to HKD44bn (US$5.62bn) in 2021, representing an increase of 9.7 per cent over the previous year. The current cement price in Malaysia has been hiked due to increases in the cost of raw materials, especially coal in   the international market, says Sharuddin Omar Hashim, Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad (CIMA) . Indonesian cement and clinker exports rise to record levels in 2021

Indonesia is rapidly expanding its cement and clinker export activities, with YoY volumes climbing by 25.2 per cent to reach a record 11.610Mt in 2021. By year end, cement exports grew by 46.6 per cent to 1.609Mt, while clinker volumes expanded by 22.3 per cent to 10.001Mt. Bangladesh and the Philippines were major clinker destinations, while cement destinations included Mauritius and the Maldives.
