Semen Indonesia Group (SIG) recorded lower sales volume inline with lower domestic demand in 2022. Vietnamese cement market expands 16% in February

Domestic cement dispatches in Vietnam increased by 16 per cent YoY to 4,080,321t in February 2023, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Of this total, VICEM dispatched 1,220,896t, up nine per cent YoY, while other VNCA members saw their sales increased by 10 per cent YoY to 879,425t. SCG reports 7% increase in revenue

The Siam Cement Public Co Ltd (SCG) reported a 14 per cent drop in sales revenue to THB122,190m (US$3510.1m) in the 4Q22 when compare with the 4Q21. The company’s EBITDA fell by 53 per cent YoY to THB10,122m while profit was down by 98 per cent YoY to THB157m.    The results were affected by lower chemicals product prices and volume driven by softer demand. Domestic cement sales by Vietnam’s cement producers saw a 39 per cent YoY fall to 2.782Mt in January, reports VNCA, the country’s cement association. Cement sales in Vietnam declined nine per cent YoY and seven per cent MoM to 5.694Mt in December 2022, according to the country’s cement association, VNCA.
