The Toral de los Vados cement works, operated by Cementos Cosmos, will be able to use waste tyres as alternative fuel following the granting of an Integrated Environmental Authorisation. Spain saw cement consumption down 50 per cent YoY in April 2020 to less than 0.6Mt, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. The decline in demand has been attributed to the suspension of non-essential works between 30 March and 9 April. Cement demand in Spain decreased 28.3 per cent YoY to 923,581t in March 2020, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. Cement demand in Spain slipped 0.5 per cent YoY to 1,171,084t in February 2020, according to Oficemen, the country’s cement association. Cementos Molins reports 5% rise in net profit for 2019

Cementos Molins posted a consolidated net profit of EUR90m in 2019, up five per cent YoY. EBITDA increased five per cent YoY to EUR49m. However, the depreciation of the Argentine peso and the hyperinflation in the Latin American country impacted the results.
