Kenya's Bamburi Cement (part of the Holcim Group) has appointed Mohit Kapoor as its new chief executive officer, effective from 1 April 2023. Holcim has supplied more than 120,000m 3 of its ECOPact low-carbon concrete to a tunnel project in Croatia, reducing the project’s CO 2 emissions by 30 per cent. Holcim has announced that Beat Hess, chairman of the company since 2016, has decided not to seek re-election to the Board of Directors at the AGM in May 2023. Holcim reported its financial results for 2022 announcing net sales of CHF29,189m (US$31.2m) for 2022. This was a 12.9 per cent rise on a LfL basis compared to the prior year. Sika has reported a record-high operating profit (EBIT) for 2022, coming in at CHF1579.7m (US$1709m), up 13.5 per cent YoY.
