Cement consumption in Spain showed no growth in 2023, settling at 14.5Mt, representing a drop of three per cent YoY and five years of stagnation, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. FLSmidth has released its 4Q23 and full-year 2023 preliminary and unaudited results. The cement business recorded revenues of DKK1.4bn (US$203.3m) in the 4Q23 and DKK6bn in 2023. EBITDA margin for the cement business grew by 7.4 per cent in the 4Q23 and by 6.7 per cent in 2023. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is trialling the use of geopolymer concrete as part of the port’s efforts to lower its CO 2 footprint.
