Lucky Cement reports consolidated earnings of PKR28.2bn for FY21

Pakistan-based Lucky Cement Ltd reported a consolidated profit after tax of PKR28.23bn (US$172.46m) against PKR 7.1317bn in the previous fiscal year. Taiheiyo Cement announces 101% rise in net profit

Japan’s Taiheiyo Cement has posted a revenue of JPY159.6bn (US$1.44bn) in the quarter ending 30 June 2021, down 20.4 per cent on JPY200.56bn in the same period of the previous fiscal. However, net profit surged 101 per cent YoY to JPY6.58bn from JPY3.27bn in the 1QFY21-22.

Saudi Cement sees 14% rise in profit

Saudi Cement Co has posted a 14.1 per cent YoY rise in net profit to SAR86.4m (US$23.04m) in the quarter ending 30 June 2021, compared to SAR75.7m in the year-ago period. Revenue also climbed 17 per cent YoY to SAR348.1m from SAR297.5m in the 2Q20.

Taiwan’s Lucky Cement has posted a 19.1 per cent YoY decline in revenue to TWD310.86m (US$11.17m) in July 2021, compared to TWD384.04m in the same month of the previous year. In the first six months of the year, the company also reported an 8.6 per cent decrease in revenue to TWD2.39bn from TWD2.61bn in the 1H20.

North Macedonia’s Cementarnica Usje has seen a 17 per cent YoY rise in net profit to MKD686.8m (US$13.2m) in the first half of the year, while operating revenue increased 18 per cent to MKD2.5bn. Saudi Arabia’s Northern Region Cement has seen its net profit rise 26.9 per cent YoY to SAR52.9m (US$14.11m) in the January-July period of 2021, compared with SAR41.65m in the first half of the previous year. However, sales decreased 1.6 per cent YoY to SAR307.19m from SAR312.2m in the 1H20.

Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has posted a 44.8 per cent YoY rise in group revenue to NGN690.55bn (US$1.676bn) in the first half of 2021, compared to NGN476.85bn in the year-ago period. Group EBITDA also climbed 61 per cent to NGN351.06bn from NGN218.07bn in the 1H20, while the EBITDA margin increased to 50.8 per cent from 45.7 per cent. Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province Cement has announced a five per cent increase in net profit to SAR122m (US$32.53m) in the first half of 2021, against SAR116m in the 1H20. Sales also rose 12.8 per cent YoY to SAR429m from SAR380m. In the second quarter of the year, profits advanced 106 per cent YoY to SAR62m while revenue climbed 45 per cent to SAR212m.
