Thailand-based Siam City Cement Co (SCCC) has posted a revenue of THB1188m (US$34.5m) from its Siam City Cement Vietnam business in Vietnam in the first quarter of 2023. Peru-based Cementos Pacasmayo reported a 12.1 per cent YoY drop in revenues to PEN442m (US$123.4m) in the second quarter of 2023, due to a drop in demand, which was affected by severe rainfall due to cyclone Yaku and a stagnation in public investment as a result of new regional authorities. Carthage Cement advances 1H turnover by 24%

Tunisia-based Carthage Cement increased its turnover by 24 per cent YoY to TND208.546m (US$68.92m) in the first half of 2023, according to information on the Tunis Stock Exchange. The improvement of the company’s results is attributed to a jump in 1H cement sales with local sales increasing by 25 per cent YoY to TND158.822m and exports by 19 per cent to TND31.284m. UNACEM Peru sees 20% uptick in sales and record production in 2022

Peru-based UNACEM saw its net cement sales increase by 19.7 per cent YoY to PEN2655m in 2022, according to its 2022 integrated report. Total sales reached PEN2835m. EBITDA reached PEN882.3m, up 16.9 per cent YoY when adjusted for other income and costs, while net profit stood at PEN421.5m, up 6.6 per cent YoY. Dispatches increased to 6.666Mt in 2022. Holcim-owned LafargeHolcim Maroc has reported a three per cent uptick in revenues to MAD2131m (US$209.2m) in the first quarter of 2023 from MAD2077m in the year-ago period. Morocco’s cement demand declined by 5.3 per cent to 3.248Mt in the January-March 2023 period when compared with the first three months of 2022, when consumption reached 3.248Mt. The company’s debts fell by five per cent YoY to MAD4887m at 31 March 2023.

Ciments du Maroc 1Q turnover slips 4%

Ciments du Maroc , part of Heidelberg Materials , posted an unaudited turnover of MAD917.8m in the 1Q2023, down four per cent YoY from MAD955m in the 1Q22. Cement consumption in Morocco saw a 5.3 per cent drop in the January-March 2023 quarter when compared to the year-ago period. Arabian Cement Co posted a net profit after zakat and tax of SAR49.2m (US$13.1m) in the 1Q23, down 17.4 per YoY from SAR41.9m. It was 40.2 per cent higher QoQ when compared with SAR35.1m in the 4Q22. The company’s sales declined 7.4 per cent YoY to SAR240.1m in the 1Q23 when compared with SAR259.3m in the equivalent period of the previous year, according to Mubasher.

Saudi Arabian cement producer Hail Cement Co saw revenue decline by 9.9 per cent YoY to SAR61.85m (US$16.5m) in January-March 2023 from SAR68.61m.
