UNACEM sees contracting 2Q profit margin

Peru-based UNACEM reported a consolidated net profit of PEN110.8m (US$26.7m), up 25.8 per cent YoY, as the company’s revenues increased and interest expenses fell. India’s JK Cement has reported revenue from operations of INR21,664m (US$271.5m) in the quarter ended 30 June 2022. This compares to INR16,336m in the same period a year earlier.  Net profit over the same period has fallen from INR2082.6m to INR1811.4m. Asia Cement reports TWD4458m net profit in 2Q22

Taiwan’s Asia Cement Corp posted revenues of TWD24,488m (US$816.3m) in the second quarter of 2022, up 9.2 per cent when compared with the 2Q21.  Pretax profit came in at TWD5620m in the period under review, down 17.4 per cent from TWD6805m in the year-ago period. The company also saw a net profit of TWD4458m in the 2Q22, representing a 1.3 per cent decrease when compared with the 2Q21, when net profit reached TWD4515m.

Fujairah Cement sees narrowing 2Q loss

UAE-based Fujairah Cement Industries Co reported a loss of -AED14.2m (US$3.86m) in the second quarter of 2022, an improved result when compared with a loss of -AED21.1m in the equivalent quarter of the previous year. Second-quarter revenues came in at AED88.7m, down from AED90.8m in the 2Q21.

Tokyo Cement (Co) Lanka plc posted a 76 per cent YoY increase in revenues to LKR11,442m (US$31.8m) in the three months ended 30 June 2022 (2QFY22-23). Saudi Arabia-based City Cement Co saw a 50.1 per cent drop in net profit after zakat and tax to SAR24.8m US$6.61m) in the second quarter of 2022. In the 2Q21 net profit after zakat and tax stood at SAR49.7m. The company reported sales of SAR89.2m in the 2Q22, down 25.5 per cent from SAR119.8m in the 2Q21.
