Moroccan cement consumption fell 2.9 per cent in the first half of 2018 to 6.57Mt when compared with 1H17. However, in June alone, domestic demand increased by 13 per cent from 721,846t in June 2017 to 815,842t.

Argentina’s cement market contracted by 6.3 per cent in July 2018 when compared with the previous year, according to the country cement association, AFCP. Domestic consumption fell from 1,016,589t in July 2017 to 952,220t one year later. Nationwide dispatches by Argentine producers declined to 949,680t fro 1,007,897t, down 5.8 per cent YoY. Cement sales in Pakistan increased 5.1 per cent in the first month of FY18-19. In July, total cement dispatches rose to 3.554Mt from 3.382Mt in July 2017, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers’ Association. National cement demand in Colombia declined 4.1 per cent to 943,200t in June 2018 from 983,500t in June 2017, according DANE, the country’s statistics office. Total cement consumption in Vietnam increased to 5.812Mt in June, representing a YoY rise of 126 per cent and a MoM fall of nine per cent, according to the Vietnam National Cement Assocation (VNCA). June saw Semen Indonesia sell 1,571,763t of cement, down 13.7 per cent YoY, according to figures from the Indonesia Cement Association.
