Cement sales in Brazil increased 14 per cent YoY to 4.7Mt in February 2021, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Cemex announced that it expected to recommission one of its product lines at the San Pedro de Macoris plant in the Dominican Republic. Total cement sales in Pakistan edged up two per cent YoY to 4.6Mt in February 2021, showing sharply decelerating market growth when compared with January, when the market expanded by 16.3 per cent. Vietnam exported 2.7Mt of cement and clinker worth US$98m in February, up 16.8 per cent and 4.8 per cent YoY, respectively, according to the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the first two months of this year, the country exported 5.84Mt of cement and clinker (up 15.9 per cent) representing a value of US$214m (up 6.6 per cent).
