Dalmia Cement to burn 5000t of baled plastics in Ariyalur kilns

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) will be using 5000t of baled plastics to fire its cement kilns in Ariyalur following a memorandum of understanding with Greater Chennai Corp (GCC). The priority of the corporation is reducing the amount of plastics dumped as legacy waste in Kodungaiyur and Perungudi, according to Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi and Chief Engineer of Solid Waste Management, N Mahesan. The GCC bears all the charges, including transporting the baled plastics to the factory in Ariyalur.

Malabar Cements launches new dry mix

India's Malabar Cements has launched a new dry mix for use when plastering buildings. The dry mix is made by combining cement and sand after removing dampness with the help of a machine, reports The Hindu. India’s Sagar Cements Ltd has appointed Shri Ravichandran Rajagopal as an independent director of the company, effective from 27 March 2023 for a period of five years. A graduate in mechanical engineering, Mr Rajagopal is currently a whole-time director on the board of Anjani Foods Ltd. Dalmia Cement sells stake in Dalmia Bharat Refractories

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL) has agreed to sell its entire investment of 18,723,743 equity shares in Dalmia Bharat Refractories Ltd to M/s Sarvapriya Healthcare Solutions Private Ltd. The transaction represents 42.36 per cent of share capital, at a total consideration of INR8000m (US$97.12m), and forms part of DCBL’s strategy to exit non-core business/investment, according to the company.

Vedanta Aluminium has entered into a long-term partnership with Dalmia Cement  (Bharat) for the supply of industrial wastes such as fly ash and spent pot lining (SPL) to produce low-carbon cement. Nepal exports 153,493t of cement to India in 7MFY22-23

In the 7MFY22-23 Nepal exported cement and clinker worth NPR167.03m (US$1.273m), reports Khabarhub. According to Nepal’s Department of Customs, over the seven-month period, 153,493t of cement were exported, with a value of NPR60.66m. Bangladesh reports 50% increase in cement export revenue

Bangladesh has reported 49.7 per cent YoY growth in cement export revenue to US$8.13m in the 8MFY22-23 (July 2022-February 2023). This compares to US$5.43m in the same period a year earlier. India’s first cement concrete steel slag road is currently under construction on National Highway 66, around 50km outside Mumbai. The 1km stretch of road, which is located near JSW Cement ’s plant in Dolvi , Maharashtra, is being built using steel slag along with cement slag, according to India Today.
