Nepal exports 153,493t of cement to India in 7MFY22-23

In the 7MFY22-23 Nepal exported cement and clinker worth NPR167.03m (US$1.273m), reports Khabarhub. According to Nepal’s Department of Customs, over the seven-month period, 153,493t of cement were exported, with a value of NPR60.66m. Bangladesh reports 50% increase in cement export revenue

Bangladesh has reported 49.7 per cent YoY growth in cement export revenue to US$8.13m in the 8MFY22-23 (July 2022-February 2023). This compares to US$5.43m in the same period a year earlier. According to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), this figure also includes minor amounts of salt, stone and related products. India’s first cement concrete steel slag road is currently under construction on National Highway 66, around 50km outside Mumbai. The 1km stretch of road, which is located near JSW Cement ’s plant in Dolvi , Maharashtra, is being built using steel slag along with cement slag, according to India Today. UltraTech commissions solar plant at Dalla

UltraTech Cement inaugurated a 9.50MWp DC solar power plant at its Dalla plant as part of drive to source its energy from 100 per cent renewable energy sources by 2050. The total power consumption of the plant is currently approximately 27MW and the new solar power plant accounts for around a third of this demand, according to Dalla’s plant manager, Rahul Saighal. It is expected that the 1MW reduction of coal-based power consumption will lower CO2 emissions by 820kg.

Orient Cement has terminated a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd (APML) to set up a grinding unit in Maharashtra, India. Bangladesh’s Mir Cement has announced plans to raise its production capacity to 5000tpd by 2024. Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd has reported a 22.7 per cent YoY increase in revenue to INR33,550m (US$405.6m) in the 3QFY22-23 ended 31 December 2022. EBITDA over the same period advanced by 57.5 per cent to INR6440m, while cement volumes expanded by 11.5 per cent to reach 6.3Mt. Adani Cement has announced that ACC and Ambuja Cements will resume operations at two plants in Himachal Pradesh, India, after resolving issues over freight rates.
