December 2017 was a positive month for Peru's cement production and dispatches, although volumes remained insufficient to reverse the accumulated fall in 2017, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Cement consumption in Peru totalled 0.902Mt in November, representing a 2.5 per cent YoY rise but a MoM drop of 2.5 per cent, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Cement demand in Peru increased 3.3 per cent MoM and 12.1 per cent YoY to 0.925Mt in October 2017, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Cement consumption in Peru advanced 3.8 per cent YoY from 0.82Mt in September 2016 to 0.851Mt one year later, according to data from Asocem, the country's cement association. Total dispatches increased 2.9 per cent YoY to 0.884Mt in September 2017 from 0.86Mt in the year-ago period. This includes a 14 per cent drop in cement exports to 33,000t. Peru’s cement association, Asocem, reported a 2.3 per cent YoY rise in domestic deliveries from 0.838Mt in August 2016 to 0.857Mt in August 2017. Cement imports remained largely stable at 43,800t while clinker imports reached 86,000t. Peru’s cement dispatches edged up 0.6 per cent YoY to 0.777Mt in July 2017, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Domestic supply was supplemented by 100t of imported cement and 44,400t of imported clinker. Output from the country’s cement plants fell 1.2 per cent YoY to 0.827Mt in July. Peru's cement market contracted 6.9 per cent YoY with sales of 0.737Mt in February, according to Asocem, the country's cement producers' association. Cement consumption in Peru fell 5.2 per cent to 836,000t in December 2016, according to Asocem, the country's cement association. Cement consumption in Peru continues to fall with domestic sales noting a 6.6 per cent YoY decline from 914,000t in November 2016 to 854,000t in November 2016, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association.
