In August Peruvian cement demand reached 0.868Mt, representing 4.3 per cent decline YoY, according to Asocem, the country's cement association. To complement local output, around 43,000t of cement and 87,000t of clinker were imported. Peru: cement market expands 1.8% YoY in April

Peru’s cement demand increased 1.8 per cent YoY in April to 781,000t, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. This reversed the previous month’s fall of 1.4 per cent. Cement output in April expanded by 7.5 per cent YoY to 831,000t. Some 29,000t of this volume was exported, reflecting an eight per cent decrease when compared with April 2015. In addition, 23,000t of clinker was exported – some 17 per cent below the April 2015 level.

Peru’s cement dispatches remained stable in December 2015 as they reached 881,000t while total dispatches edged up one per cent to 928,000t, according to Asocem, the country’s cement producers’ association. Cement dispatches in Peru fell 4.8 per cent YoY in November 2015, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Some 0.884Mt of cement was sold, down from 0.929Mt in November 2014. Total sales saw a 3.4 per cent drop to 0.923Mt. Output fell five per cent YoY from 0.973Mt to 0.924Mt in November 2015.

Cement dispatches in Peru slipped 1.9 per cent in September to 0.887Mt from 0.905Mt in September 2014, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Peru’s cement market contracted 5.2 per cent in July, according to Asocem, the country’s cement producers’ organisation. Deliveries fell from 846,000t in July 2013 to 802,000t in 2014. Cement dispatches in Peru fell by 8.4 per cent YoY in May to 779,000t, reflecting an accelerating contraction of the domestic market, according to cement association Asocem. Peru's ASOCEM cement association reports that in July its members delivered 88,277t of cement in the domestic market. The January to July shipments are up YoY for the same period by 11 per cent rise, while a total of 16,349t of cement were also exported during July 2013.
