Iran produces 18.23Mt of cement in 1Q14

Iran produced 18.23Mt of cement and 19.35Mt of clinker in spring 2014, which corresponds to the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (21 March – 20 June).   Meanwhile, Iran exported around 18Mt of cement in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on 20 March 2014. The country’s cement output is currently about 80Mta, of which 50Mta is used by domestic industries.

Pakistan: good FY14 with positive outlook for FY15

Domestic cement sales in the last month of FY14 jumped 14.32 per cent to 2.53Mt compared to 2.21Mt during June 2013. Despite a marked increase in shipments to India, Pakistan exports have proved disappointing in the first 11 months of the current fiscal, declining both in volume and revenue terms compared to the same period of last year. Peru: cement dispatches edge ahead

Between January and May 2014, Peru’s cement market expanded by 0.51 per cent YoY to 4,129,906t, according to the latest figures from the domestic cement association, Asocem. Production rose by 0.95 per cent YoY to 4,231,221t in the first five months of the year, from 4,191,295Mt in the same period a year ago. Exports jumped from 81,356t to 95,716t, up 17.65 per cent during Jan-May.

Iran exported over 3.47Mt of cement and clinker in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on 21 March, an Iranian cement industry official announced on Tuesday. Vicem’s sales increase boosted by exports

State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country's leading cement producer recorded a seven per cent rise in sales over the first four months of the year boosted by an increase in exports. China's cement exports declined by 9.4 per cent YoY to 2.96Mt in the first four months of 2014, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs. Pakistan export volumes and revenues have continued to decline in the first 10 months of the current fiscal, mainly due to a decline in shipments to Afghanistan. On a more positive note, despite the disappointing performance on the export front, utilisation rates have climbed to a five-year high.
