Vietnam's Ministry of Construction forecast that about 52-53Mt of cement and clinker will be consumed in the domestic market in 2014 with an additional 18-21Mt exported. Pakistan records 4% drop in cement exports

In the first four months of FY14/15, Pakistan’s cement producers and exporters exported 3.116Mt of cement, down 3.8 per cent YoY. The total value of the shipments fell by three per cent from US$189.77m to US$184m. While volumes were down the average export price of cement rose by 0.58 per cent to US$58.57/t in 4MFY14/15 from US$59.04/t in 4MFY13/14, according to Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics. Peru: exports offset domestic sales slip

Peru’s cement market remained stable in October as domestic sales slipped slightly from 967,000t in October 2013 to 965,000t, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. However, local producers saw a more marked YoY fall in output from 944,000t to 983,000t. Iran exports reach 11.7Mt in first seven months

Iranian cement factories exported 11.7Mt  in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21- October 22), the country's Ministry of Industries, Mines and Trade announced. The ministry said that over 8.1Mt of cement and about 3.6Mt of clinker were exported during the review period.

Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan top Vietnam export table

Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan were the largest importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement in the first nine months of this year, according to data released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. During the period, Indonesia imported 1.76Mt of clinker and cement worth US$83m from Vietnam, while Malaysia acquired 1.05Mt worth US$52m and Taiwan purchased 969,678t worth US$41.7m. Indonesian cement consumption increased by 3.2 per cent in October 2014 and year-to-date sales were ahead by 3.4 per cent. However, industry sources caution that sales may start to slow on account of the rainy season. Pakistan sales up 8.87% in first four months of FY14-15

Pakistan cement sales increased by 8.87 per cent to 8.197Mt during the first four months of the current fiscal year, latest data by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) shows. In July-October, exports of cement decreased 4.43 per cent to 2.79Mt  over the same period last fiscal year. Vietnam's total cement sales including exports increased six per cent YoY to reach 53.22Mt in the first 10 months of 2014, latest data from the country's Construction Ministry's Building Material Department reveals. Of the amount, 41.54Mt was consumed in the domestic market, up eight per cent compared with the corresponding period last year, while exports rose slightly by one per cent to reach 11.68Mt. Argentina: cement consumption rises 5% MoM but notes 3% YoY decline

The Argentine cement market expanded by 5.3 per cent MoM to 1,101,072t in October 2014 but contracted by 3.1 per cent YoY, according to AFCP, the national cement producers’ association. The country’s cement producers dispatched 1,115,224t in the period. The figure, which includes exports represents a MoM increase of 5.8 per cent but a fall of 3.1 per cent YoY.
