Star Cement begins production at new clinker line

Star Cement has commenced production at its new clinker line in Lumshnong, Meghalaya, India, with effect from 21 April. The new line has a clinker production capacity of 3.3Mta. Also located in Lumshnong is Star Cement’s 1.67Ma integrated cement plant, reports Projects Today. The company also has two grinding units – a 2Mta plant in Sonapur , near Guwahati, and a 2Mta works at Mohitnagar in West Bengal – along with an integrated works at Siliguri .

UltraTech agrees to acquire India Cements grinding facility

India’s leading cement producer, UltraTech Cement , has agreed to purchase a 1.1Mta grinding facility in Parli in Maharashtra for INR3.15bn (US$37.8m) from  India Cements Limited .  UltraTech, a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group, will also invest INR5.04bn to expand its total capacity by 3Mta, including the Parliament facility.  The acquisition of the facility, as part of an asset purchase agreement, includes a captive railway siding. Udaipur Cement Works inaugurates Dabok cement mill

Udaipur Cement Works Ltd (UCWL) , part of JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd , has inaugurated cement mill IV at its Dabok plant in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. The new mill increases cement capacity at the integrated plant from 2.2Mta to 4.7Mta and is expected to improve efficiency, productivity and product quality. Gautam Adani raises stake in Ambuja Cements

Gautam Adani and his family have made a further investment in Ambuja Cements . Injecting another INR83,390m (US$998.3m) into the business has increased their stake in the cement producer to 70.3 per cent. Shree Cement predicted to see 2% sales advance

India-based brokerage, Prabhudas Lilladher, has announced its estimated earnings for Shree Cement in the January-March 2024 period, with a forecast of INR5572m (US$66.58m) in net profit. India's  UltraTech Cement Ltd  is building three new clinker production lines and will use Gebr Pfeiffer vertical roller mill (VRM) technology. Ambuja Cements , part of the Adani Group , has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 1.5Mta grinding unit from My Home Industries Group .
