Steppe Cement Ltd recorded revenue for the year ended 31 December 2015 of KZT19,537m (US$54m), which was seven per cent lower than the KZT20,925m recorded in the corresponding period of 2014. Holcim Belgique is closing five ready-mixed concrete plants in Flanders, a move that will affect around 60 employees. The works being closed are at Furness, Ostend, Bruges, Izegem and Herentals. Huaxin Cement Co of China has signed an agreement to invest US$150m in the construction of a 1Mta cement plant in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. The deal was signed by Berdybek Saparbayev, governor of the Aktobe region, and Xu Yongmo, chairman of the board of Huaxin Cement. Steppe Cement Ltd Tuesday said revenue in the first nine months of 2015 fell four per cent YoY as increased sales were offset by lower cement prices. Kazakhstan producer said revenue in the third quarter of 2015 experienced a small rise to KZT7.77bn from KZT7.65bn a year previously. Steppe Cement Ltd Friday said its first-half loss before tax narrowed to US$2.29m from US$6.40m in the previous year. Steppe Cement names new chairman

Steppe Cement Ltd on Monday said it has appointed Paul Rodzianko, independent non-executive director, as its independent non-executive chairman. Rodzianko is currently the chairman of Steppe Cement's audit committee and a member of its nomination and remuneration committees. The new chairman is taking over from Malcolm Brown, who retired on 28 May due to health reasons.
