Christian Pfeiffer wins Slovenian ball mill project

Christian Pfeiffer has won the contract to build an efficient ball mill circuit for limestone milling for a Slovenian client. The centrepiece of the plant will be a 3.2m (diameter) air stream ball mill with drying compartment and a high performance DSL separator.  The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for the end of 2021.

Slovenian cement producer, Salonit Anhovo (Wietersdorfer Group) has resumed cement operations after 14-day shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic that caused reduced demand for its domestic market and exports to Italy. Salonit Anhovo suspends production for two weeks

Slovenia’s Salonit Anhovo has suspended production for two weeks from 20 April, due to demand in its Italian and Slovenian markets falling amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. However, the company will continue to make cement shipments to its customers. "We expect that cement sales on the domestic market will stabilise again as the government is providing incentives for construction activities," said Dejan Zwitter, Salonit management board member.

Cementarna Trbovlje seeks to resume operations

Slovenia’s Cementarna Trbovlje (LafargeHolcim) has requested an environmental permit from the country’s authorities to resume cement grinding, storage and dispatch, according to Delo. The company lost its environmental permit in 2014 and halted operations in February 2015. As the plant is not expected to produce raw materials, it will buy them alongside cement additives. The producer was once the second-largest on the domestic market with a capacity of 0.52Mta.

The Slovenian cement producer Salonit Anhovo has won a bronze EBRD Sustainable Energy Award for substantial progress in the use of non-hazardous solid recovered waste in the energy mix. Slovenia: Salonit receives EUR15m EBRD loan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced it is to provide a EUR15m loan to Salonit Anhovo to help it improve its operations. The funds will be used for energy and resource efficiency improvements and to restructure the company’s balance sheet. Lafarge Cement (Slovenia) confirmed Wednesday it had filed a new request for an environmental permit, though it would not comment on the details of its filing, the Slovenian Press Agency reports. Slovenian producer Lafarge Cement said on Wednesday that the country’s environment inspectorate has ordered the plant to suspend operations for lacking environmental permits. Slovenian court revokes Trbovlje environmental permit

The administrative court in Ljubljana has revoked the environmental permit issued to LafargeCement, SeeNews reported citing Slovenian press. The permit was issued to Lafarge in January by the Environment Agency for its site in Trbovlje, state-run news agency STA said. The Trbovlje works of Lafarge Cement, 55.9 per cent owned by Lafarge Perlmooser, is located in central Slovenia, and has a production capacity of 0.45Mta of clinker and 0.6Mta of cement.
