Lebap Cement exceeds 1Mt production in 2023

The Lebap cement plant in Turkmenistan produced more than 1Mt of cement of various grades last year. About 107,500t of cement were sent to neighbouring Uzbekistan last year, reports Turkmenportal. The plant’s specialists are optimistic about the future, planning to increase product production along with improving its quality indicators.

Construction of Lebap expansion completed

The construction of the second phase of Turkmen Cement 's Lebap cement plant in Koytendag, Turkmenistan, has been completed, reports Trend News Agency. The 1Mta expansion was carried out by Turkmen Enjam. The modernisation project began in the summer of 2020 following authorisation by the Ministry of Industry and Construction. The plant’s commissioning is planned for the end of September 2023.

Uzbekistan reduces imports by 25% in 7M22

In the January-July 2022 period Uzbekistan has imported 1.3Mt of cement, with a value of US$52.2m. In terms of volume, this represents a 24.5 per cent YoY drop from 1.721Mt in the 7M21, reports Asia-Plus. Turkish plant construction machinery manufacturer Bilim Makina AS has ordered various machines and silo discharge gates from Aumund Fördertechnik for a 1Mta new kiln line at Baherden Cement in Ahal province, Turkmenistan. Lebap Cement sees 8% rise in dispatches

The Lebap Cement plant in Turkmenistan delivered 470,924t of M-400 and M-500 Portland cement to customers between January-July 2021, according Trend News Agency. The data reflect a 7.8 per cent YoY rise in dispatches. The plant currently has a production capacity of 1Mta and is located in the Koytendag district of the Lebap region, but is undergoing a 1Mta expansion project. Commissioned in 2013 the production facility has supplied both the domestic and export markets.

Cement exports from Turkey to Turkmenistan increased by 79.1 per cent from January through September 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to US$14.8m, the Turkish Trade Ministry reported. The President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has signed resolutions authorising the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production to finalise contracts for the second phase of construction on two cement plants. Turkmenistan exports 0.256Mt in 2019

Turkmenistan’s Lebap cement plant in Koytendag district exported 256,000t, or nearly 30 per cent of its production, in 2019. The majority of exports were M400 and M500 cement shipments, which were delivered to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The plant is one of the largest in central Asia and its production capacity of 1Mta could be extended to 1.5Mta.
