Italy’s cement output expands 3% in April

Cement production in Italy advanced by three per cent in April 2022 when compared with the 2015 baseline index of 100, according to Federbeton, the country’s concrete association. On a YoY basis April and year to date (YtD) output declined by two and three per cent, respectively. The cement industry in Spain has increased its social investments in the communities where it operates its 32 plants by 79 per cent to EUR5.2m in the last two years, reports the Spanish cement association, OFICEMEN. UK-based dry silo mortar producer CPI EuroMix is participating in a carbon-friendly forestry initiative as part of its sustainability commitment. Enva opens new fly ash recycling plant in Scotland

Enva has opened its new GBP1.5m (US$1.8m) ash recyling plant in Paisley, Scotland, UK. The new works will treat up to 20,000tpa of fly ash from biomass and energy from waste (EfW) facilities. The ash, which would previously have been destined for disposal in hazardous landfill sites, is washed to remove contaminants and then combined with other materials to create a sustainble, concrete product.
