Deutsche Bank has reportedly set emissions targets for loans to clients in the cement sector as part of the bank’s net-zero target for 55 per cent of its financed emissions. Researchers in Melbourne are trialling adding coffee grounds to concrete to eliminate waste. Cement Australia has signed a three-year rail haulage agreement with Pacific National for the movement of cementitious materials across Australia. Holcim Romania expands Campulung plant

Holcim (Romania) SA is investing over EUR25m to expand its cement plant in Campulung by 20 per cent. The investment will not only address the need for cement by the Romanian construction market, it will also help improve the plant’s sustainability by streamlining its logistics and reducing CO 2 emissions from the long-distance transportation of cement materials, according to Holcim.
