The Vietnamese cement industry has surpassed its annual sales target of 83-85Mt in the first 10-months of 2018, on the back of high demand in global markets. According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$29.05m by exporting 671,913t of cement during September compared to US$27.57m on 617,745t of cement in previous month. Domestic cement sales in September rose 23 per cent YoY in September 2018 to 5.313Mt, according to data published by the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Brazil’s cement producers sold 4.564Mt of cement to domestic customers in September 2018, down 5.6 per cent when compared to the 4.835Mt sold in the year-ago period, according to the country’s cement producers’ association, SNIC. Cement consumption in Peru reached 0.966Mt in September 2018, slipping by 0.3 per cent when compared with the year-ago period, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem.
