HeidelbergCement has sold the 0.7Mta Spoleto cement works to Colacem and agreement has been reached to sell the Testi integrated cement works and two grinding centres to Buzzi Unicem, with completion envisaged by the end of July. The Indonesian subsidiary Indocement is looking for four per cent sales growth in 2019 to some IDR1.1bn, with most of the growth coming in the second half. This compares with a 5.3 per cent growth rate in 2018 when the net profit fell by 38.4 per cent.

Italy’s Colacem has announced the acquisition of Cemitaly’s 0.7Mta Spoleto cement plant for an undisclosed sum. Buzzi Unicem has announced that Luca Dal Fabbro will be resigning from his position of non-executive director, effective from the end of the board meeting on 28 March 2019. He was appointed on 8 February 2018 in place of Oliviero Maria Brega, who had passed away. Bedeschi to supply material handling equipment for Italian plant

Cementeria Costantinopoli has ordered equipment for handling raw material and clinker handling from Bedeschi for its cement plant in Barile, Potenza, Italy. Bedeschi will supply a storage system for clinker with a No1 bridge stacker type STK P with a capacity of 100tph and a No1 bridge reclaimer type BEL C with a capacity of 130tph. Cementir's turnover for the first nine months of 2018 rose by 4.8 per cent to a restated EUR893.18m thanks to the full consolidation of Lehigh White Cement from the second quarter of this year and a higher Asia-Pacific turnover, but the eastern Mediterranean contribution was lower. Buzzi Unicem reports that its 9M18 cement volumes recorded a rise of 3.1 per cent to 20.9Mt, up from 20.3Mt in 9M17. Consolidated net sales for the 9M18 amounted to EUR2137.4m , up 0.2 per cent compared to EUR2133.4m in the same period of 2017. Cement and clinker sales of the group in the period January-September 2018 stood at 20.9Mt, an advance of 3.1 per cent compared to the previous year (-0.8 per cent on a like-for-like basis).
