Polish monthly production rises 16.1% YoY

Cement production in Poland rose by 16.1 per cent to 720,4000t in February, while sales fell by 2.3 per cent to 722,300t, according to the Polish Association of Cement Producers (SPC). For the first two months of this year,  production grew 8.6 per cent to 1.24Mt, while sales increased 5.3 per cent to 1.36Mt. Bosnia: TCK expects flat output

Bosnia's Tvornica Cementa Kakanj (TCK), part of the HeidelbergCement Group, sees its cement output flat this year after producing 420,000t in 2014, the company's director said. “Our cement production fell by around 10 per cent in 2014, which was probably the most difficult year since the war for the Bosnian economy and its citizens as the country went through political turmoil in February followed by record floods in May and in August and elections in October,” Branimir Muidza told SeeNews ...

Peru: Unacem reports rise in 4Q14 income

Peruvian cement producer Unacem saw revenues increase 13.2 per cent to PEN516.5m (US$167m) in the last quarter of 2014 when compared with 4Q13. EBITDA rose 52.5 per cent thanks to clinker exports and despite higher fuel costs. Net profit increased 179.9 per cent YoY to PEN138.4m. Vietnam output up 13% YoY

Vietnam produced 4.2Mt of cement in February, down 19 per cent from January but up 13.3 per cent from a year ago, according to the government-run General Statistics Office. In the first two months, the country’s cement production rose 19.8 per cent YoY to 9.4Mt, the office said in a monthly report. Colombia dispatches up 14.5% in January

The Colombian cement market expanded by 14.5 per cent YoY in January 2015 as the country’s cement producer dispatched 927,800t of cement, according to the latest figures by national statistics office, Dane. Output rose 8.3 per cent to 0.9Mt when compared with January 2014. The strongest demand growth occurred in Nariño (+165 per cent), Cesar (+37 per cent), Magdalena (+36 per cent),  while Antioquia and Bolivar saw dispatches rise by 25 per cent.

As the Bolivian cement market surged 24 per cent YoY in 2H14, the domestic cement industry was able to increase output by 15 per cent. However, much has changed as the sector invested in new plants and pushed up production to improve the supply-demand balance. Peru’s cement dispatches fell 1.7 per cent in January due to an unfavourable construction climate and the change of local and regional governments, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Polish cement sales rose by 15.4 per cent YoY in January 2015 to 638,500t, according to the country’s cement association, Stowarzyszenie Producentów Cementu (SPC). Production during the first month of the year, however, declined by 0.1 per cent to 520,000t, the data shows. Last year, domestic production increased by 6.8 per cent YoY to 15.4Mt, with sales during the period rising by 6.6 per cent.
