In the first half of the year, domestic cement demand has advanced 2.1 per cent to 6.57Mt when compared with the 1H18. Deliveries for the building sector expanded most rapidly by 37.4 per cent in the first six months. |

The rise in demand, which follows a market contraction of 3.7 per cent in 2018, has been welcomed with one operator commenting: “The recovery of the cement market is comforting. We hope that this upward trend will continue in the coming months.” |
