Egypt’s Arabian Cement Company has reported revenue of EGP3333.9m (US$135.9m) in the first nine months of 2022, up from EGP1568.1m in the same period a year earlier. Arabian Cement has recorded an eight per cent increase in revenue to SAR241m (US$64.2m) in the third quarter of 2022, compared to the same period a year earlier. Private investor ups stake in Arabian Cement

Private investor Sadiq Ahmed Sadiq El Sewedy has increased its share in Egypt-based Arabian Cement Company (ACC) from 9.5 per cent to 11 per cent at a cost of US$1.6m. The deal was handled by Al Ahly Pharos and EFG Hermes Holding. The opening six months of 2022 saw ACC post revenue of EGP2.129bn (US$111.2m), significantly up from EGP964.9m in the same period a year earlier. Arabian Cement has reported revenue of EGP2.129bn (US$111.2m) in the first half of 2022, significantly up from the EGP964.9m seen in the same period a year earlier. Consolidated profit also surged, improving from a net loss of EGP23.28m in the 1H21 to a profit of EGP119.49m in the opening six months of this year, according to Mist News.

Two cement companies have posted their interim financial results at the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) for the period ending on 30 June 2022, showing lesser earnings during this period. Saudi cement producer Arabian Cement Co reported a 2Q net profit after zakat and tax of SAR45m (US$12m), up 34.2 per cent from SAR33.5m in the 2Q21. Arabian Cement Co reports that it has received a Jeddah commercial court order in its favour, ordering Emaar The Economic City to supply to the company 4.57Mt of limestone based on the agreement signed by the two parties on 28 April 2012. Egypt-based Arabian Cement Co exports increased by 49 per cent YoY in the January-October 2021 period, according to Sergio Alcantarilla, the company’s CEO. Export destinations during this time included Libya, Spain, Sudan, the USA and Yemen. Arabian Cement posted a consolidated net loss of EGP23.21m (US$27,1844) in the 9M21, compared to EGP39.77m in the 9M20.

Egypt’s Arabian Cement Co has announced a consolidated net loss of EGP23.21m (US$1.48m) during the first nine months of 2021, an improvement from the EGP39.77m net loss seen in the 9M20.  The standalone net loss reached -EGP24.53m against -EGP38.25m in the January-September 2020 period.

Egypt's cement industry recorded strong sales in March with total sales reaching 4.99Mt, up 22 per cent MoM and 15 per cent YoY. The industry’s utilisation rate also surged to 74 per cent from 60 per cent in February. The average utilisation rate in 2020 was 59 per cent.
