While the company had shelved the project, which was to start this year, following the strong protest of the local Pocito population, Mr Schütz said the plant would be built but did not specify the exact location. While this represents a 2.7 per cent decrease when compared with August dispatches, the volume rose 15.8 per cent YoY. The internal market absorbed 1,041,084t, 2.8 per cent less than the previous month. However, when compared with September 2012, Argentine producers enjoyed a 17 per cent rise in sales. |
Cimpor outlines Latin America spend16 September 2013, Published under Cement NewsCimpor is to invest some BRL3bn (US$1.319bn) over the next four years which is expected to include new factories in Brazil and Argentina. Company CEO Ricardo Lima said the main objective is to reinforce Cimpor's position in Brazil where it operates in all regions except the north.
