Total cement dispatches (including exports) from Argentina’s cement producers fell five per cent MoM in February, but rose 11.8 per cent YoY to 897,299t, according to cement association AFCP. Domestic deliveries reached 885,296t, down 4.6 per cent MoM but up 12.9 per cent YoY. Argentina imported 273t of cement in February, higher than the 227t reported for January. Cimpor’s turnover eased by 0.8 per cent in 2014 to EUR2603.7m while the EBITDA declined by 6.7 per cent to EUR645.6m. The trading profit emerged 7.9 per cent lower at EUR448.8 and the net financial charge declined by 8.8 per cent to EUR371.4m, giving a pre-tax profit 3.5 per cent lower at EUR77.3m and at the net attributable level there was a swing from a loss of EUR19.4m to a profit of EUR27.2m. Argentina: January domestic sales up 2% YoY

The Argentine cement market expanded by four per cent MoM and 1.9  per cent YoY as domestic sales reached 927,510t in January 2015, according to the latest figures released by AFCP, the country’s cement association. Imports increased from 163t to 227t. However, exports in January fell by 21.9 per cent when compared with January 2014 to 16,705t and by 27 per cent in comparison with December 2014.

In December 2014, Argentina’s cement demand fell 10.4 per cent MoM and 2.5 per cent YoY to 892,313t, according to the latest data from AFCP, the Argentine cement association. The country’s cement producers supplied 905,306t of cement, including exports, registering a MoM drop of 10.4 per cent and 2.4 per cent YoY. Argentina’s cement consumption falls 4.7 per cent MoM

In November, Argentina’s cement market contracted by 9.4 per cent MoM and 4.7 per cent YoY as 997,440t of cement were sold, according to the country's cement association, AFCP. The country’s cement producers delivered 1,011,082t, including exports and as such saw their sales volumes drop 9.3 per cent MoM. When compared with November 2013, dispatches fell by 4.8 per cent.

Argentina: cement consumption rises 5% MoM but notes 3% YoY decline

The Argentine cement market expanded by 5.3 per cent MoM to 1,101,072t in October 2014 but contracted by 3.1 per cent YoY, according to AFCP, the national cement producers’ association. The country’s cement producers dispatched 1,115,224t in the period. The figure, which includes exports represents a MoM increase of 5.8 per cent but a fall of 3.1 per cent YoY.

In August, the Argentinian cement market was supplied by 993,397t of domestic production and 254t of imports as it saw consumption fall 7.2 per cent YoY to 993,651t. In July 2014, Argentina's cement market required 949,904t of cement (including imports), 7.2 per cent more than in June, but registering a 5.4 per cent YoY fall. The country's cement producers delivered 967,752t to domestic and overseas markets, which represents a MoM increase of 7.6 per cent. When compared with July 2013, however, a 4.7 per cent drop was noted.
