Chile’s cement market contracts 5% in March

Chilean cement consumption decreased five per cent to 365,826t in March 2022 when compared with March 2021 when market volume reached 385,276t, according to the country’s construction association, CChC. However, in the January-March 2022 period demand advanced 12 per cent to 4,336,734t from 3,872,664t in the 1Q21.

Chilean cement market contracts 9% in February

Cement dispatches in Chile declined by 9.3 per cent in February 2022 to 318,964t from 351,735t in February 2021, according to the Chilean cement and construction chamber, CChCC. MoM the decline was 8.1 per cent from 347,211t in January 2022. In the first two months of 2022 total domestic dispatches reached 666,175t, down 4.6 per cent YoY when compared with 698,198t in the 2M21.

Chile’s market demand is stable in January

Cement consumption in Chile remained broadly stable in January 2022, edging up by 0.2 per cent to 347,211t when compared with January 2021, according to the Chilean chamber of construction, CChC.

Chilean cement demand advances 2% in December

Cement consumption in Chile increased 2.3 per cent YoY to 373,351t in December 2021, reports the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). For the full-year 2021 total cement demand reached 4,388,207t, up 15.6 per cent when compared with 3,796,976t sold in December 2020.

Cement dispatches in Chile edged up 0.2 per cent in November 2021 to 390,080t from 389,488t in November 2020, according to the Chilean construction chamber, CChC. In the first 11 months of 2021 deliveries saw a 17 per cent advance YoY to 4,014,856t from 3,42,051t in the 11M20.

Cement consumption in Chile increased 4.5 per cent YoY to 410,424t in October 2021 when compared with October 2020, when demand reached 392,688t, according to the Chilean Chamber for Construction (CChC). In the January-October 2021 period dispatches were up 52.4 per cent to 3.625Mt from 2.379Mt in the 10M20.

Cement sales in Chile edge up 2% in September

Chilean cement sales have increased by two per cent YoY in September 2021. Volumes were reported at 334,603t in September 2021, up from 328,184t in September 2020, according to the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). In the January-September 2021 period sales advanced 1.2 per cent YoY to 3.214Mt when compared with 2.65Mt.

Chile’s cement dispatches advance 21% in August

Cement dispatches by Chilean cement producers improved 21.1 per cent to 371,947t in August 2021 from 307,117t in August 2020, according to the Chilean construction chamber, CChC. In the January-August 2021 period, deliveries advanced 24 per cent to 2,879,749t from 2,321,691t in the 8M20.

Cement dispatches in Chile advanced 55.5 per cent YoY to 361,956t in July 2021 from a low base of 233,186t in July 2020, according to the Camara Chilena de Construcción (CChC). In July 2019 cement dispatches reached 317,626t. In the first seven months of 2021 an increase of 24.5 per cent to 2,507,802t was reported. This compares favourably with the 2,014,574t in the January-July 2020 period. In the 7M19 cement dispatches were at 2,382,831t.

Chilean cement consumption advanced 66.7 per cent YoY in June 2021 to 355,851t when compared with the 233,186t reported in June 2020 and by 21.9 per cent when compared with June 2019, according to the Chilean Construction Chamber, CChC. In the January-June 2021 period, dispatches were up 20.5 per cent YoY to 2,145,846t from 1,781,388t in the 1H20. When compared with the first six months of 2019, when dispatches reached 2,065,205t there was a 3.9 advance.
