Aalborg Portland signs letter of intent on CO2 storage hub

Aalborg Portland and Fidelis New Energy have signed a letter of intent enabling the cement producer to potentially supply more than 400,000t of CO 2 to the Norne Carbon Storage Hub in Aalborg through a direct pipeline connection by 2030. Cement production growth fuels record-high emissions in China

A 4.1 per cent YoY increase in China’s cement production in the first quarter of 2023 has contributed to a four per cent rise in the country’s CO 2 emissions, marking a record high for the first quarter of a year. Holcim Belgium joins Fluxys CO2 network

Holcim Belgium is joining forces with Fluxys to meet the cement producer's carbon neutral objectives as part of its Go4Zero programme. The first phase of Go4Zero is the construction of a dry-process clinker kiln at Holcim’s Obourg site, replacing the two current wet-process kilns.
