Chilean deliveries down 1% in September, up 5% in 9M19

Chilean cement dispatches declined 1.4 per cent YoY to 311,328t in September 2019 when compared with a volume of 307,015t delivered in September 2018, according to the Chilean Construction Chamber (CChC). When compared with August 2019, dispatches were down 15.7 per cent. In the first nine months of 2019, total dispatches increased 5.1 per cent from 3.948Mt in the 9M18 to 4.15Mt in the 9M19.

Cementos Polpaico sees 23% earnings rise in 9M19

Chile-based Cementos Polpaico, owned by the Hurtado Vicuña Group, reported earnings of CLP3869.19m (US$5.32m) in the 9M19, representing a rise of 22.8 per cent YoY. In the first nine months of 2018, the company’s earnings reached CLP3150.38m. Chilean cement dispatches up 7% in August

Cement dispatches in Chile increased 7.3 per cent YoY to 369,337t in August 2019 when compared with August 2018, when they reached 344,084t, according to the Camara Chilena de Construcción (CChC), the country’s construction chamber. In the first eight months of 2019, dispatches advanced by 5.9 per cent to 2.752Mt from 2.599Mt in the 8M18.

CChC reports 11% YoY rise in Chile cement dispatches in July

Cement dispatches in Chile increased by 11.3 per cent to 317,626t in July 2019 from 285,357t in July 2018, according to the Chilean construction chamber (CChC). MoM an 8.8 per cent rise was achieved, from 291,979t in June 2019. In the first seven months of 2019, total dispatches reached 2,382,831t, up 5.7 per cent when compared with January-June 2018 when deliveries were 2,254,729t.

Chilean cement plant faces local opposition

The planned cement plant by Inversiones Orange in San Bernardo, Greater Santiago, Chile, is not welcome with the local population. Chilean cement dispatches in June declined 10.6 per cent to 291,979t from 326,681t in June 2018, according to the Chilean Construction Chamber (CChC). When compared with the previous month, the drop was 15.4 per cent. In the first half of 2019, total cement dispatches in the South American country reached 2,065,205t, representing a 4.9 per cent increase when compared with the 1H18, when 1,969,372t was delivered.

Chile’s cement sales up 6% in May

Cement dispatches in Chile slipped 0.9 per cent MoM to 345,001t in May 2019, according to the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). However, this represents a YoY increase of 6.4 per cent to 324,236t.  In the first five months of 2019, total dispatches increased 7.9 per cent to 1.773Mt when compared with 5M18 when dispatches were 1.643Mt.

Cementos Melon gets go ahead for Punta Arenas grinding plant

Chile's Environmental Evaluation Service (SEA) has passed the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for Cementos Melón (Brescia Industrial Group) to construct the company's new grinding unit in Punta Arenas, Magallanes region. Chile’s cement dispatches increase 11% in April

Cement dispatches in Chile were up 11.2 per cent to 348,151t in April 2019 when compared to 313,131t delivered in April 2018, according to the latest data published by the Chilean Construction Chamber (CChC). In the January-April 2019 period, 1.428Mt of cement were dispatched by the country’s cement plants, representing a YoY increase of 8.3 per cent. In January-April 2018 dispatches reached 1.318Mt.

Chilean dispatches up 20% YoY in March

Chilean cement producers dispatched 398,132t of cement in March 2019, up 20 per cent from 331,802t in February 2019, according to the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). When compared with 360,803t in March 2019, the YoY increase was 10.3 per cent.  In the first quarter of 2019, dispatches reached 1,080,074t, representing a rise of 7.4 per cent YoY. In the 1Q18, deliveries stood at 1,005,324t.
